Having already won two stages in last year's edition of Tour of Oman, Team Lotto-Belisol's André Greipel proved his continued determinism when he was the first rider across the finish line in stage 1 of this year's race.

Finishing second in yesterday's stage, André Greipel got things right today in stage 5 of the 2014 Tour of Qatar. The German sprinter and national champion scored his first ever success in Qatar when he won the sprint across the finish line in Madinat Al Shamal ahead of Aidis Kruopis and Theo Bos.

Simon Gerrans became the first three-time winner of the Tour Down Under, in front of a home crowd in Adelaide on Australia's national day. Gerrans went into the final stage with a lead of just one second over Cadel Evans (Team BMC Racing) and finished with the same narrow margin.

For the second consecutive day, a Belgian squad has won a stage of the Tour de France 2013. Yesterday, Mark Cavendish did the honors for Omega Pharma-Quick Step, and today, Andre Greipel won the day for Lotto-Belisol. Greipel took a bunch sprint to win Stage 6, a flat, 176.5-km run from Aix-en-Provence to Montpellier, in 3:59:02. Peter Sagan (Cannondale) outsprinted Marcel Kittel (Argos-Shimano) for second.

Adam Hansen (Lotto-Belisol) has won Stage 7 of the 2013 Giro d'Italia. The Australian of Italian extraction (he has Italian and Australian passports) surged away from Emanuele Sella (Androni Giacattoli-Venezuela) in the rain on the day's penultimate climb. Hansen won the rugged, 177-km ride from Marina di San Salvo to Pescara in 4:35:49.
