Julian Dean Diary

2006 Tour de France - Stage 4: Only skinned.

2006 Tour de France ? Stage 4 - Only Skinned....

Hi all. Carole here again. Julz still can't get online....Sorry about that.

Anyway, most of you probably saw him come-a-gutsa today. It didn't look pretty and from where I was watching, I had pretty much decided that I was well and truly over this stupid sport and in particular, months of rehab....Thankfully though I over-reacted and Julz is fine. No broken bones...Phew! Just no skin left on his left side....But then that's what ya get when you fang off a bike at 60-odd kms/hr clad in skimpy bloody lycra! The insanity of it all, I tell ya.

So yeh...all's well that ends well, I guess. It's pretty sad though when you get to the point where you're happy that your husband has skinned himself! I've come to expect lots worse, I s?pose, so I feel lucky (and hence, happy!)that it was only skin he lost and no broken bones.

Now for the bad news...Poor old Thor got relegated today for not holding his line in the sprint. By the looks of the replay and from inside talk, it was a very harsh call by the commissaires and one that seems rather random considering Thor's wee near-miss with Robbie the other day. Needless to say Thor is feeling a tad despondent coz his chances of latching onto that green jersey are a little further out of reach now...Although not out the arse, that's for sure. Plenty more racing left yet so Julz just has to keep plugging away at those leadouts and hopefully Thor can nail some more valuable points.

So that's my lot really. Julz will try again tomorrow to flick through the last 3 diary entries so check again tomorrow!

Thanks for the notes you all keep sending in...It really does make a difference to Julian's morale....and mine!!

Carole and Tanner :o)
