With five cyclocross world championships and an incredible number of national titles to its credit, Belgian brand Ridley can be rightly said to be residing at the center of the cyclocross universe. The Ridley X-Fire/SRAM Rival Complete Bike is part of its stable of winning cyclocross bikes; Ridley has been working hand-in-hand with world champions for over a decade, and their requests for innovations have created the unique features that propel the X-Fire ahead of the competition and onto the podium. The Ridley X-Fire/SRAM Rival Complete Bike features a frame constructed of 24-ton carbon fiber, and a full carbon 4ZA Oryx fork. This combination gives the X-Fire just the right amount of stiffness to enable quick acceleration and pickup for dig-in-slippery climbs, but not so much as to break your body apart when you bunny-hop the barrier. Ridley's field experience has also bred a few frame designs that you'll be happy to have when you're running in the mud. For one, the X-Fire has a squared down tube that's more comfortable to put on a shoulder or in a hand on in the runs, and it in turn stiffens the bottom bracket juncture for direct crank efficiency. For protection from the elements and those times when you're running with the bike, Ridley incorporated internal cable routing for the shift cables and the rear brake line. The Oryx fork uses a massive 1-1/8 by 1-1/2in fork crown that eliminates brake chatter and increases lateral rigidity. Ridley even designed the fork shape to shed excess dirt.If you can think of it, Ridley has already done it. The X-Fire is the culmination of a long list of firsts from Ridley; the first full carbon cyclocross frame, the first over-sized carbon cross fork, and the first 1-1/8 by 1-1/2in cyclocross head tube.
