When you're pushing the limits of your body and bike, it's helpful to know where you're going. And with the Smith Fuel V. 2 Sweat-X Goggle, that won't be a problem. Multiple density foam, fog-fighting dual pane lenses, and multiple tear-off options ensure that you'll have an unobstructed view. The race-winning pedigree is just a bonus. Goggles are assigned a fairly simple set of tasks -- provide clear vision, a close fit, and to be fog-free. These tasks are inherently related, in that a correct fit ensures clear vision. And to make sure that the Fuel fits flawlessly, Smith has incorporated its F. A. T. three-layer face foam structure. Basically, it consists of a dense foam base with a soft, conforming foam mid-layer, and a felt layer that absorbs sweat. The result is a seamless interface that ensures that fogging won't be a problem. The fit also gets a boost from outriggers, which hold the goggle strap away from the frame, thereby ensuring that the strap clears your helmet. The straps are held in place with silicone grippers, so your goggles will stay put run after run. As you'd expect, the clear lenses included with the Fuel incorporate tear-off tabs, so you'll have clear vision in the wettest of conditions. But, if you'd prefer something that's friendlier to both the user and the environment, Smith also includes its roll-off system. It's not dissimilar from an analog camera, in that the pull tab advances the film roll across the lens. And, along with being easier to use than a standard tear-off, you'll also enjoy the moral high ground of taking your used lens-protectors with you, rather than littering the earth with sheets of tear-off film.
