For the heel-strikers and Athenas among us, the New Balance Women's NBX 1260v3 Running Shoe offers prodigious cushioning with a shockingly supple sole flexibility. The third iteration of the 1260 has garnered awards for losing weight without sacrificing softness or support for runners who need a little extra guidance along the way. With a middling 8mm drop, midfoot strikers won't feel as though they are running on their tiptoes and heel strikers still get ample protection for their rear-foot-favoring gait. Regardless of which way you run, you'll enjoy pillowy softness, subtle stability, and shoe flexibility in the reworked 1260v3. Using Fantom Fit skeletal engineering and a lack of stitches, the air mesh and synthetic upper stays close to your foot without being like your first boyfriend--clingy. The no-sew upper is directly attached to Abzorb foam so the shoe fits more like a sock. The midsole is made using N2 cushioning technology so your foot stays near the ground even though the impact of your gait is mitigated and moderated. In cooperation with the full-length Abzorb foam, toe to heel Acteva Lite sucks up the shock of running for a sweet-on-the-feet (and body) feel for miles on end. An Abzorb crash pad in the heel does double duty by offering some foot-strike stability as well as an extra hit of cushioning. Usually, your gait tends to totter and teeter when you choose cushioning over control. The 1260v3 blends softness with stability to keep you striding straight without taking away your body-preserving cushioning. The T-Beam TPU midfoot shank supports your arch and increases torsional stability. A medial post made of dense foam still softens your gait while minimizing your tendency toward over-pronation. Round rubber under your forefoot keeps the shoe supple while saving your sole from the insults of running on the road.
