Leave it to the folks at Mavic to set a new standard in what we expect from a product. The technology in the Women's Scorpio shoe really isn't ground-breaking; it's race-proven technology commonly found in shoes that sell for $300 or more. What Mavic did is bring high-performance race-bred gear to the 99 percenters-that's folks who give at least 99 percent every time they throw their leg over a bike, but do it on a normal income. A synthetic heel counter keeps your heel locked firmly in place for efficient pedaling and elimination of heel blisters. Inside the shoe is the Ergo Fit 2D insole. It's a two-density insole with a high-density heel cradle, and it's covered in an anti-bacterial material that resists stink. The 3D EVA tongue is ergonomically superior to other companies' flat, lightly padded offerings. It's perforated for ventilation and is lightly padded to give a little cushion, but not so much that your foot has room to move around when pul...
