Warmer than shorts, cooler than tights, the Assos TK. 434 S5 Bib Knickers are the perfect extra insulation you need on days when the temps fall between the mid-50's and the low 70's. Its RXQ fabric panel covering the knee may be the most important detail. It's a Roubaix style fabric, a bit thicker than spandex and brushed on the inside for extra warmth to protect your knee joints. The bottom cuffs fall just below the knee, and they're anatomically cut so that you'll enjoy a perfect fit on the bike and total freedom of movement. Compared to the TK. 607 Bib Knickers, these TK. 434 S5 Bib Knickers are lighter and less insulated, save for the thicker fabric at the knee. For the bulk of the knickers, Assos uses their Type A. 434 compression spandex to gently support your muscles while conforming to your body for a wrinkle free fit. The FI. Mille S5 Chamois is curved to fit your natural shape, and it has a built-in channel in the pad to reduce genital pressure. In addition, it has the same softness and heat-ventilation dimples of the FI. 13 chamois. Assos gives it their "Long Distance" designation since it has more surface area than the FI. 13, it stretches less than the FI. 13, and it has a stabilizer built into the chamois, causing it to move less during your pedal stroke. Another aspect of the FI. Mille chamois is that the front portion is cut high enough to prevent "podium bulge" for those moments you'll be spending off the bike in the caf351 or general store. The Assos TK. 434 S5 Bib Knickers are Black and come in six sizes from Small to TIR. The bib uppers have a large mesh insert in the back for maximum ventilation and stretch. Three centimeter tall elastic leg cuffs wrap across the front of the knee and have soft silicone dots to keep the bottom of the knickers comfortably in place, and small sections of reflective piping are sewn into the seams on the back of the legs to make you more visible in low light conditions.
