If you live in a mountain town, you've heard some over-the-hill local say 'if you don't like the weather here, just wait five minutes' and then cackle like they just came up with it. It's a mountain town cliche, but there actually is some truth to it. Mountains affect the clouds and the air currents, causing the weather to be unpredictable. Because of this, it's always a good idea to carry a rain jacket when you head into the backcountry, even if it's sunny. The hand pockets are closed with waterproof zippers to keep your valuables safe when it really starts coming down. You'll want to dump heat quickly if it starts warming up inside the Downpour Jacket. To that end, Fox provided underarm vents and a vented back panel that won't allow rain in but will let heat out. A rear headphone loop keeps your cord where you want it without snagging your brake levers or passing tree branches because an unexpected, involuntary headphone ...
