Thomson Elite seatpost

Thomson Elite seatposticon So what's so exciting about a bike seatpost review? Well, if you ever had one break on you, it gets very exciting!

Unfortunately, I've had an aluminum bicycle seatpost break. I have also known of carbon seatposts breaking. Obviously, strength is a very important factor to consider with a seatpost.

Thomson claims that its seatposts are 40 percent stronger than others on the market despite Thomson seatposts being of similar weight as those of other manufacturers. This makes me take notice. It is clear to me that Thomson has designed its products using careful testing and thoughtful engineering. The machining process used in manufacturing also lends itself to refined and fashionable looking products.

Not only is the Thomson seatpost that I tested strong and finely finished, it is functionally simple to use. There are clearly defined markings for it's length, diameter, and maximum height. I also appreciate the markings for the seat angle. You can be very precise when making adjustments rather than standing back and wondering if the seat is level or slightly tilted. Maybe it is time for an eye exam as I thought the markings were a little difficult to see. The seat is easily mounted to the two-piece clamp without having to take it apart. It is even marked with the word "front" making it a no brainer to ensure the proper direction. The clamps are also engineered to be impact-absorbing. I have heard of seat manufacturers favoring the Thomson seatposts, as they don't tend to break seat rails.

I have confidence in the Thomson seatpost. In addition, I like the ability to make precise adjustments. The Thomson seatpost is simple to use, American-made, and worth every penny when you have to consider the alternative of having one break on you!
