Rudy Project Ekynox sunglasses

Rudy Project Ekynox sunglassesicon Italian company Rudy Project has introduced a new sunglass for the 2002 season - the Rudy Project Ekynox.

We asked our product reviewer team to test them.

"The new 2002 Ekynox sunglasses reminded me somewhat of a larger version of my three-year-old Rudy Project Tayos. Slipping on the Ekynox glasses brought back all the familiar Rudy Project trademarks that I am used to. First and foremost, the lenses are clear. My Ekynoxs came with laser-blue lenses, which really stood out and complemented the pearl frame. Second, the adjustable ergonose and the T-lock temple retention system always ensure comfortable fit with simple adjustments." said product reviewer Dave Osborne.

The lenses easily snap in and out to allow adjustment to different light conditions.

The lenses don't meet the corners of the frame where the bows attach. This design feature is the antifog lenses venting system. Our reviewers didn't experience any fogging problems during testing-- even at high temperatures!

The wrap-around styling of the frame and lenses provided very good protection and field of view, and the vent slots did not allow the contrasting bright sunlight to interfere with the intent of the sunglasses themselves. One downside to the full frame is the fact that it interferes with rear view. This can be a problem under conditions such as field sprints because you won't be able to see competitors behind you as clearly as with other sunglasses such as the Rudy Project Kerosenes.

The extras associated with Rudy Project sunglasses are very much appreciated. The hard "taco" case provides room for spare lenses and all the protection you need to keep your sunglasses from being damaged. In addition, a soft carrying bag/cleaning cloth is included.

Rudy Project offers the user access to a wide range of spare lenses. This allows the user to easily find a suitable lens color for any weather condition.

The optional clip-on system allows users to mount prescription lenses on the sunglasses.

As always, Rudy Project sunglasses are second to none in function and quality. The Ekynox sunglasses are of great quality and are highly functional. If you like how they perform, we can vouch for their quality and recommend them. Our reviewers still prefer the Rudy Project Kerosene sunglasses, however.
