Team Silence-Lotto Strikes Deal with Canyon Bicycles

Team Silence-Lotto and Canyon Bicycles have announced that the team will ride on Canyon bikes during the 2009 season.

In 2009 it is crucial for Team Silence-Lotto to obtain peak performance during the three weeks of the 2009 Tour de France. Securing the overall win in the Tour for Cadel Evans is the team's main goal of the season, which is likely a major reason why sprinter ace Robbie McEwen is leaving the team at the end of the 2008 season.

"To accomplish [our] mission we [searched for] the bike supplier with the best total package", said Silence-Lotto Team Manager Geert Coeman and added that "We had several technical demands for our future bike supplier. With the 2009 Canyon Ultimate in the super light SLX version and the new time trial machine Speedmax CF, we have found bikes fulfilling our needs."

According to Canyon Bicycles CEO Roman Arnold "Canyon bikes will bring the team valuable seconds in the race for gold. Our research and development department is the pride of our company. Since its introduction in the professional peloton in 2007, Canyon has had an outstanding reputation among the riders."
