Spenco Ironman T.2 Elite Cycling Gloves Review

Spenco Ironman T.2 Elite cycling gloves for men.

The first thing I look at in a body wear product is how well it is constructed.  The Spenco Ironman T.2 Elite cycling glove appears flawless.  I would be shocked if it ever came unraveled. The intricate seam design makes this glove form fitting.  I found them to be comfortable as well as supportive to my joints and muscles while riding a bike.

The palm is made of the flexible Pittards leather fabric that has a smooth leather-like finish which is great for gripping the handlebar. An area of the inside of the palm has a suede-like finish that is very soft and comfortable. A tricot fabric lines the spaces between the fingers which form perfectly around the curves between fingers.  A mesh fabric covers the top of the hand. The gloves feature a built-in fine-weave terry wipe.  The top of the glove is made of an attractive lavender waffle weave fabric that allows a close fit combined with ample flexibility. I can’t believe the detail and precision required to put these gloves together - multiple seams and fabrics yet no bulkiness!

The Rip-It easy on/off triangle-shaped closure allows the glove to open widely just above the knuckles. This makes it much easier to remove the glove quickly than closures placed at the wrist. I enjoyed the 5 gel pads for the palm. They are thick and protect the carpal tunnel nerve as stated in the specs.  But I was particularly impressed with the heft and shock absorbency of the padding.

At the time of testing the Spenco Ironman T.2 Elite gloves, my palm had a relatively serious cut that required stitches.  I was obviously tentative but surprisingly had no discomfort during my ride!  That alone sold me. The substantial padding and placement of them didn’t even irritate my injury. However I don’t think any glove can completely absorb the shocks that go up your arms when you bang into the big cracks, bumps, and pot-holes in the road.

The Spenco Ironman T.2 Elite glove provides comfort and superb construction. It is a quality glove with all the features you wish for. Next time you have stitches in your hand, ask for Spenco gloves!
