Sigvaris Recovery Socks Review

Sigvaris Compression Recovery socks review.

Recovery is an important aspect for any athlete. To recover, we eat and drink energy products, stretch, and cool down. Now, Sigvaris provides a wearable item as another method of recovery.

Compression is a relatively new approach to feel better and is even used as a preventative measure. My first experience with this technology was during a lengthy overseas flight. The basis behind wearing them was to prevent deep vein thrombosis. Socks for this purpose were initially only available through medical companies.

Sigvaris now offers the ideal sock for athletic use and beyond. Not all compression socks are created equal. The key is graduated compression. Variable pressure is applied on your leg from your ankle to calf. Sigvaris is the global leader with this design. The general concept is to improve circulation which flushes the build up of lactic acid. The quicker this happens, the less sore your muscles feel. Think of the significance this plays in a stage race. If you don't have a soigneur at your disposal, just put on a pair Sigvaris recovery socks.

The first time I put these socks on, they were tight yet comfortable. The size "B" fit my 9.5 shoe size perfectly. The heal cup was right where it should be. There is a rib at the lower ankle portion of the sock. The top of the sock was slightly above mid calf.

I used the recovery socks for about a month on a variety of occasions after bicycling, racquetball, and on a 1400 mile motorcycle trip. The Sigvaris socks made a difference. I didn't experience the "dead weight" feeling in my muscles. While sitting for hours on my motorcycle, my legs didn't get numb. Going on my second month of use, they have maintained their shape, fit, and compression properties. The more I use them, the more I like them.

I have appreciated the opportunity to understand compression technology and have experienced first hand the benefits from it. Sigvaris states "life for legs" when talking about their product. That sums it up perfectly. Men, women, pro's and amateurs alike can put life back in their legs using Sigvaris recovery socks. There are four men's and women's sizes to choose from.
