Prestaflator Review

We review the Prestaflator bike pump system.

Prestaflator review.

Put an end to your strokin' with the Prestaflator! No longer will you have to use manual labor to inflate your bicycle or car tires. We all know the Presta valve was a communist plot implemented by the French to make life in America more miserable. To this day, we are still fighting the metric system! Thanks to American ingenuity, the Prestaflator has made life easier.

Use your home air compressor from now on with the quick connect Prestaflator tire inflator. I was able to snap it on the end of my air hose and inflate my road bike tires in under a minute. It couldn’t get any easier. The large, variable rate trigger made it easy to control the air flow. The huge pressure gauge was easy to read even by old guys who get fat in winter with bad eyesight! It has both BAR and PSI ratings.

I initially used the Prestaflator with a compressor that was rated at 120 max PSI. I found airing up a road bike tire seemed to equalize at about 110 PSI. From that point on, the inflation rate slowed down quite a bit. It just so happens a buddy of mine was shopping for a used air compressor so out the door it went and in came a new one rated at 150 max PSI. As it turns out, Prestaflator has a list of recommended compressors on their website. It so happens, the one I purchased was on their list. It just goes to show great minds think alike.

Optional accessories from Prestaflator include a quick clip Schrader head and a blower nozzle. In addition to obviously being compatible with Presta valves, the Prestaflator also works on car tires, MTB tires or anything with a Schrader valve. Use the blower nozzle to dust off your bikes after they have been hanging all winter or use it as a blow dryer after washing your bike.

Normally, I don’t comment about the price of a product. However, for US$40 you should buy this with no questions asked.  Everything about the Prestaflator was top notch and high quality. This includes the high pressure hose, heavy duty brass fittings and adaptors, and the cast aluminum body. If you hold this product in your hand, you’ll know the quality and durability I am talking about. In addition, it is designed to be easily serviced when the need arises. Not only is this the perfect tool for bicyclists, it is handy for other purposes. I have to say, this is a tool you will never hesitate to use because of its quality and ease of use. Put this on your Christmas list, birthday list or buy one for your significant other. Do whatever it takes and go out there and get one. You won’t regret it!
