Interbike: Yakima Introduces RackAndRoll Trailers for Bike Transport

Yakima Rack and Roll bike transportation trailer.

At last week’s Interbike show in Las Vegas, Yakima introduced Roadcycling.com to the new Yakima RACK and ROLL high performance multi-sport trailers. These trailers appeal to hardcore and recreational cyclists, teams, and families by increasing storage options with the ability to carry up to seven bikes, and multiple cargo box or bike combinations.

“For multi-sport consumers, athletes and reps who are constantly involved in outdoor adventure, the trailer offers numerous combinations for carrying a maximum amount of gear,” David Fee, senior director of market and product development for Yakima told Roadcycling.com and added that “The Yakima RACK and ROLL trailer features the most advanced design of any trailer on the market, creating an extremely attractive and durable yet lightweight trailer. Adding RACKandROLL to our family of products enables Yakima to better serve consumers wanting more space, an alternative to rooftop solutions, and an option to easily load gear at hip level.”

Each trailer includes a set of Yakima crossbars for the easy transfer of bike racks or cargo boxes from the top of the car to the trailer. Available in two sizes, RACKandROLL 66 (66 inches wide) and RACKandROLL 78 (78 inches wide), its independent suspension system and alloy wheels are approved for interstate travel by the Department of Transportation (DOT) and a standard flat four light connector keeps the trailer visible.

The aluminum trailers feature an ergonomic handle for hand carting gear from the vehicle to the campsite or trailhead. The trailer quickly breaks down and is easy to store in tight spaces. A one year limited warranty is offered for all parts.
