Product Review: Rudy Project Ekynox SX ImpactX Sunglasses

Take the outstanding features already incorporated in Rudy Project sunglasses and improve them.

Take the outstanding features already incorporated in Rudy Project sunglasses and improve them! That?s what Rudy Project has done with the Ekynox SX. Along with the contemporary styling of the Ekynox SX frame, they have added the newest lens technology. Here?s what you get: ImpactX, photochromic, and polarized.

Probably the most significant in terms of safety is ImpactX. Can you say bulletproof? Can you say guaranteed unbreakable for life? Sounds like something I would like covering my eyeballs! As strange as it sounds, the lenses remain flexible. I suppose this is the ?bend not break? way of thinking.

Now, if only this lens could change shades based upon the light conditions. Sure enough, Rudy Project thought of everything. Can you say photochromic polarizing? In short, the lens changes from light to dark depending upon the light conditions. If you are lazy like me, you don?t have to take them off when you walk indoors. If you are a tech geek, the lens is made with photochromic particles which produce the changes and provides for polarization.

I was getting a few odd stares every time I entered or left a building and took my sunglasses off to look at the lens? change color. It's a bit like watching paint dry. You really can?t see it happen but it does. I'm glad it works the way it does. No more fussing with spare lenses. I have to admit I prefer the laser lens in bright sunshine. Good thing I have my Rudy Project Kerosene?s on standby.

I know I say this all the time about Rudy Project's, but it is true. The lens clarity is the best. Every time I put a pair on, I think my eyesight gets better! The fact is, their lenses enhance contrast, reduce glare, provide true vision without color distortion, and protect you form ultraviolet rays. Another handy feature is the strap interface. You can hook a strap to the bow more securely. Of course, there is nearly infinite adjustment with the nosepiece and temples.

I will readily admit it. I love Rudy Project sunglasses and haven't found anything better. The new photochromic lens is great because I don't bump into the wall anymore when I walk in a building! Rudy Projects keep getting better.
