Michael Barry Interview

Roadcycling.com caught up with Michael to talk about the Vuelta, Team Discovery Channel and the Athens Olympics.

rider) winning her silver medal.

MB: It was a great experience and a memory I will cherish forever. I raced the Olympics in
Atlanta
and that was a memorable time but
Athens
eclipsed that in every way. Sharing the Olympics with Dede was great; we have ridden together for 7 years now and it wouldn't have felt right to be in
Athens
without her. She has worked incredibly hard throughout her career and the silver medal was a great way to crown her accomplishments in the sport and outside of the sport. She inspires me in many ways.

IM: Looking forward to 2005,
US
Postal is being taken over by Discovery Channel. What is your situation with the team? Will you still be with the team as it enters into the UCI Pro Tour?

MB:  I hope to stay with Discovery for the coming years. They are a great team-well organized, a good  group of guys and a supportive environment in which I felt I have been able to progress.

Thanks for taking the time to talk to Roadcycling.com and good luck for the Vuelta.
