Ekimov was one of the first starters, and his time held up all day. U.S. Postal Service placed five riders in the top 25, and the American squad is well-positioned for a battle with Rabobank for victory in the Dutch tour.

In the overall, Ekimov leads Wauters and Landis by 0:09. Stage 5 will be a 221.9-km run from Dusseldorf, Germany to Sittard-Geelen, the Netherlands. Will Ekimov remain the race leader? Check in at www.roadcycling.com and find out!
