With the show season in full swing throughout the world, RoadCycling.com was on hand in As we awaited the doors to open at this year’s Interbike, we had the opportunity to get our first taste of the show from the lobby of the A first glimpse of what would soon become a common theme of the show was evident with this beauty from Felt: Originally designed to offer seating for two, the finished product offering seating for one quickly took form after the Felt engineer suffered a break up with his girlfriend during fabrication. No detail was overlooked when designing this beauty which even displayed copper plated wheels, tank and Dura-Ace crank reminding us of Orange County Choppers’ Custom “Statue of Liberty” Bike featured in the Discovery Channel series American Chopper. For those of you who missed American Chopper episodes 35 (The Lance Armstrong Bike part 1) and 36 (The Lance Armstrong Bike part 2) premiered on September 27, 2004 and October 4, 2004 respectively can catch re-airs of those episodes on October 10, 17 and 18, 2004. For schedules and times check out http://www.dsc.discovery.com/. Also on show in the lobby of the Sands was Marco Pantani’s Bianchi TT machine. Note the jet fighter handlebars built into the fork.
Bianchi also had on show their new ’05 Liquigas-Bianchi team bike that will be used in next years Pro Tour. Once we got inside the show, our first stop was Cervelo. Amongst their beautiful collection of bikes, Cervelo had on show their new P3 Carbon used by Team CSC. Cervelo has extended it’s sponsorship with CSC and will continue to supply bikes to the Danish squad through 2006. Pictured here, the P3 Carbon is outfitted with Zipp’s new 999 wheelset, FSA hardware (cranks and handlebars), and Shimano Dura-Ace.
The P3 Carbon will be available as a frameset for ’05.
