First of all, I’m glad Bobby Julich is still in after what looked to be potential broken bones from yesterday’s crash.
The citizens of Saint Brieuc turned out in full force today. If you like scallops, this is the place to be. Although, they didn’t witness any carnage, they saw young “pippo” Pozzato easily win the sprint finish. Pippo has had much practice at sprint finishes that usually involved leading out teammate Petacchi. Now, Pippo was able to do his thing and get all the glory.

During the stage, there was the usual insignificant break. What was a bit unusual was the peloton splitting in two groups. CSC makes a big push in some crosswind that caught the peloton off guard. Thanks to Riis for trying to stir things up anyway. Nothing gained or lost with the big boys.
Sven Montegomery had to withdraw because of injuries. Looks like a “Tyler” fracture.
Lotto Domo’s wake up call at the hotel this morning was by the police. Seems like they were looking for something after member Brandt had a positive UA for methadone!
Tyler told Roadcycling.com he has “a lot of abrasions on my back.” When asked about the upcoming rest day, he said “like to think about it one day at a time.” He added it was “a little bit more relaxed” during today’s stage.
