What do you get when you mix rain, wind, and paint on the road? CRASHES by two Germans, Peschel and Ullrich. You might know the second guy. Jan had about 10 km to go when out came the front wheel and he low sided. That’s gotta screw up your head no matter how quick he got back on. He lost 0:10 on the clock finishing 4th. Lance reported he slowed down a bit when he heard about Jan’s crash, maybe…maybe not.
Added more drama was Hamilton’s run as he again is trying to make me look good by going for 3rd place. I was hoping Tyler could get at least 2 GC places and he did! Vino more than likely got 3rd place nailed down with a 2:03 lead on Tyler. However, Tyler gets to keep the big balls jersey!
Once again, another dramatic stage in the 2003 Tour has come and gone leaving us amazed, disappointed, surprised, saddened, thrilled and no fingernails left on our hands!
I wish tomorrow was the first day instead of the last. Wow, what a race!
