Julian Dean. Team CSC sprinter.
We had a chance to talk to Team CSC sprinter Julian Dean about his life and personality. Read on to find out a few things you probably didn't know about Julian.

How are you doing at the moment?
Even though I've had a busy Spring, I actually feel ok on the bike at the moment.

How were you in school?
Always pretty average as far as classes went although I did manage to get a university degree - more through hard work rather than natural talent. At school, I always excelled at sports and getting myself in with the wrong crowd from time to time!

If you hadn't become a professional cyclist, what would you have become?
Probably a physiotherapist. It was always something I was interested in doing when I was growing up.

What material object do you appreciate the most?
My green stone Maori carving I wear around my neck.  I never take it off and I regard it as my 'keep safe' charm.

When was the last time you cried?
Last week after having to pull out of Niedersachsen.

Name the three words that best describe you as a person
Tenacious, focused, humourous.

What do you have in your pockets right now?
absolutely nothing.....not even empty food wrappers!

What is your favorite dish?
Astra Satellite dish....nah, just kidding.  My wife's amazing Thai Chicken Curry with wild rice.

What is the best movie of all times?
The Austin Powers movies.  He's a legend.

Have you ever been arrested?
Not officially...once I peed in public and almost got done for indecent behaviour.

What will you be doing in ten years from now?
Hopefully as little as possible....The usual post-cycling ambition that most pro-cyclists tend to have!

If you were an animal, what animal would you be?
A Kiwi bird on Stewart Island - the island at the bottom of the South Island of NZ.  On this island there are few predators of the Kiwi so they get to live a pretty cool life compared to most other Kiwi birds.  They hang out on the beaches a lot to feed which I reckon sounds bloody great!

What is the best thing about living in Spain?
The weather.

What is your favorite saying or slogan?
'Things have gotta turn around soon....surely!'

Thank you Julian! I'm sure they will.
