Dave's Dogmatic Dribbles

2008 Tour de France - Stage 20

Will the yellow jersey give Sastre the wings to win the Tour or will Evans utilize his power to move into first place? I think Evans is favored. Another battle to watch is between Menchov and Vande Velde. The only certain thing is Frank Schleck dropping out of contention.

Schumacher backs up his first TT win by setting fast time of the day. Evans seems to have an average ride and doesn’t take back enough time. Frank tries to draft after he is passed by Carlos. If he doesn’t back off, he will lose even more time in the form of a penalty. Christian wins the battle in the time trial but loses the war to Menchov.

Although the time between Sastre and Evans is only 1:05, their feelings must be worlds apart. I guess the yellow jersey does give you wings. Perhaps Cadel was worn out in the Alps. Regardless, all racers should be proud of themselves. Paris is near…and the 2008 Tour was won on the Alpe.

Check back at Roadcycling.com for my final 2008 Tour de France dribbles tomorrow...

Super Dave (Enjoy my dribbles, dislike them? Got suggestions for improvements? I appreciate your feedback!)
