According to a Team Radioshack spokesperson in January 2010, an agreement was reached between Team RadioShack and the Giro di Lombardia (Tour of Lombardy) organizer RCS SPORT regarding the participation of the US-based team in the Giro di Lombardia 2010 taking place on October 16th.
According to the spokesperson the team was totally surprised when it learned through the press earlier this week that the team was not included in the list of teams invited to the classic Italian event.
Team RadioShack has decided to summon RCS SPORT before the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne, Switzerland (CAS), seeking compensation for damages due to the nonfulfillment of the contract between Team RadioShack and RCS Sport regarding the participation in the 2010 Tour of Lombardy.
According to the team it will be represented in the case by attorny Jean-Louis Dupont.
CAS has been asked by Team Radioshack to rule on the case as soon as possible as the team obviously hopes to be invited to the 2010 Tour of Lombardy after all.
