David Moncoutie Wins Stage 8 of 2010 Tour of Spain

David Moncoutie of France has won the eighth stage of the Spanish 2010 Vuelta a Espana / 2010 Tour of Spain and Igor Anton (Team Euskaltel) has claimed the overall race lead.
Cofidis rider Moncoutie finished the stage in 5 hours, 14 minutes, 32 seconds on Saturday, when a number of leading riders were involved in a crash 6.8 miles after the start.
Serafin Martinez of Spain, Johan Tschopp of Switzerland and Jose Luis Arrieta of Spain crossed next, 54 seconds behind.
Although Anton took the standings lead, fellow Spaniard Joaquin Rodriguez has the same overall time of 32:28:49.
Also on Saturday, Team Sky withdrew following the death of its masseur, Txema Gonzalez.
Sunday's stage is a 116.6-mile ride from Calpe to Alcoy.
