Cervelo TestTeam 2009 Tour de France team time trial training.

Cervelo TestTeam’s pre-selected 2009 Tour de France riders gathered yesterday to prepare for the team time trial that takes place during this year’s Tour de France. With several strong time trial riders on the team, the objective of the test and training session was to test and adjust the new Cervelo P4 time trial bikes and to work with the team mechanics and race engineers to ensure that all riders had the right bike fit and correct position on their bikes.

The team worked at the Buochs Airport near the team's headquarters in Switzerland. The team is aiming to take full advantage of the 39 km stage 4 team time trial in Montpellier on July 7 competing against other powerful team time trial teams such as Team Astana and Team Columbia-Highroad.

Additionally, the final selection of the team’s nine riders for the 2009 Tour de France took place yesterday and will be announced at the end of the week according to a team spokesperson.

“We are very confident and quite pleased with the team’s performance,” said Cervelo TestTeam sports director Alex Sans Vega and added that “The TTT is one of the important stages for the GC at the Tour de France 2009 and to reach our goal of a top place finish in the overall ranking, this stage could play a key role. Despite the bad weather today we accomplished what we set out to do. To try different start orders and different positions.”
