Cervélo TestTeam Announces TestTeamTravel

By Thomas Valentinsen
Mar 31, 2009 - 12:13:34 PM

Road cycling's traditional focus on winning races results in the riders being shielded as much as possible from anything that could interfere with this goal, including sometimes cycling fans. While racing is also important for the Cervélo TestTeam, according to Cervelo its two other goals - product development and fan access - carry equal weight.

The newest way for the TestTeam to improve fan access is through TestTeamTravel, which will give fans the full pro treatment with the opportunity to get closer than you've ever been to both the action and the riders. TestTeamTravel packages are now available for the Classics and the Giro d'Italia. Packages for the Tour de France will be available soon.

"Our trips offer a great combination of activities. Fans get their own TestTeam bike for the duration of the event, ride part of the racecourse, meet the team for dinner and watch the team perform in the race. Because the team was set up with Fan access in mind, our riders are very open to this interaction with fans, and the first events at the Tour of California have borne this out."

To bring this opportunity to fans Cervélo TestTeam is partnering with Velo Associates. "The unprecedented access TestTeamTravel will have to the team is what sets these itineraries apart from the others that are offered for cycling's premiere events," said Steve Masters, managing director of Velo Associates. We are excited and proud to be involved with Cervélo TestTeam on such an innovative and unique project. All of us at Velo Associates are looking forward to a truly unique season with our guests."

TestTeamTravel Benefits - according to Cervelo:
o Travel to the greatest cycling races on earth;
o An intimate, exclusive atmosphere (All trips, unless indicated otherwise, are limited to a small group of no more than 20 guests);
o Meet the team;
o Get a full team kit;
o Try out the team bikes;
o Receive a massage from the soigneur;
o Ride/race on the actual course;
o Watch the TestTeam race over the same course.
o Cyclists who wish to travel with a non-cycling friend or significant other; please note pleased that non-cycling participants will receive a reduced rate for their portion of the trip.
