Team HTC-HighRoad Ready to Challenge 2011 Tour of Flanders

2011 Milan-San Remo and 2010 Gent-Wevelgem winners Matthew Goss and Bernhard Eisel are set to lead Team HTC-Highroad in the 2011 Tour of Flanders on Sunday.

2011 Milan-San Remo and 2010 Gent-Wevelgem winners Matthew Goss and Bernhard Eisel are set to lead Team HTC-Highroad in the 2011 Tour of Flanders on Sunday.

"They were both sick last week, but they've not done any racing so they have both had time to make a full recovery," Team HTC-Highroad sports director Brian Holm told Roadcycling.com and Roadcycling.mobi.

"Both of them are very clever racers, they´re both good at getting in breakaways and reading the moves, rather than waiting for too long, and that's definitely going to be the best tactic in Flanders this year. And of course they're both fast finishers," Holm added

"Matt's already beaten the biggest favorites this year at (Milano-)San Remo, so we know he's in good shape, and Bernie's (Bernhard Eisel) always super motivated for the Classics."

"Bernie's already checked out the 2011 Tour of Flanders route this week with Mark Cavendish, Gatis Smukulis and Martin Velits, even though it's not so different from last year. He'll be ready for Sunday," Holm concluded.

Team HTC-Highroad roster for Tour of Flanders 2011:
Bernhard Eisel (Aut), Matt Goss (Aus), Mark Cavendish (GB), John Degenkolb (Ger), Lars Bak (Den), Jan Ghyselinck (Bel), Gatis Smukulis (Lat), Martin Velits (Svk).
