Scan Reveals Crack in Chris Horner's Leg

Small fracture for Team Astana's Chris Horner.

An MRI scan conducted at a hospital in San Diego, USA has revealed a hairline crack in the lateral tibia plateau of his left leg.

Chris Horner crashed in the 10th stage of the 2009 Giro d'Italia taking the riders from Cuneo to Pinerolo. He managed to finish the stage but was unable to start in the eleventh stage.

After only one week of rest Chris Horner resumed training but still suffered pain. Because of the hairline crack in his left leg Horner will now have to rest two additional weeks, but the injury should heal rapidly. Horner still hopes to ride the 2009 Tour de France.

Earlier in the season Chris Horner fractured his collar bone and a rib in the Tour of the Basque Country.

The whole team here at Roadcycling.com wish him a speedy recovery and are looking forward to seeing him in the 2009 Tour de France.
