Team Movistar's Spaniard Francisco Ventoso won a second straight stage of the 2011 Vuelta a Castilla y Leon earlier today and Team Saxo Bank-SunGard's Alberto Contador placed 14th to move into ninth overall after two stages.

Ventoso covered the 132-mile stage in 05 hours, 06 minutes, 23 seconds to edge Team Barbot's Sergio Ribeiro of Portugal and Russell Downing of Great Britain and Team Sky in a sprint finish.

Triple Tour de France champion Contador finished in the same time to stay in contention for a fourth overall Vuelta a Castilla y Leon title. Ventoso leads the overall rankings in the five-stage race with a time of 09:19:20.

Defending champion Contador is expected to make his move in his quest for the overall title in tomorrow's mountainous stage.

"The overall winner of the race will be the fastest rider tomorrow and in the time trial and I'm feeling strong. But there are many great contenders here," Contador told Roadcycling.com and our mobile sister site Roadcycling.mobi.

"(Igor) Anton, (Xavier) Tondo and (Jerome) Coppel are powerful opponents but I'll do whatever I can to finish among the best tomorrow," Contador added.

The Court for Arbitration of Sport (CAS) is set to review the Spanish Cycling Federation's decision not to punish Contador despite a failed Tour de France doping test last year.
