Two-time Tour de France champion Alberto Contador (Team Astana) has won the prologue of the Criterium du Dauphine 2010.

The Spaniard completed the 4.2-mile time trial around Evian-les-Bains on Sunday in 8 minutes, 34 seconds. American Tejay Van Garderen of Team HTC-Columbia was the runner-up, two seconds behind. Team Radioshack's Janez Brajkovic (Slo) finished third.

Contador has already won three races this season: Tour of Algarve, Vuelta de Castilla and Leon and Paris-Nice.
